Pictured Left to Right with 10 trout and 1 red are Carl Strauss, Scott Oakes, Jim Greathouse, and Carl Metzroth. The fish were caught on live shrimp drifting in East Matagorda Bay fishing with Capt. Don Wood. Carl Strauss caught the largest trout which measured just under 25" and Carl Metzroth caught the 26" red. It was very windy and had the water off color, but we fought the elements until about 2 p.m. and the guys said they were ready, so we headed to the Harbor to clean fish and get out of the wind.

Left to Right are Randy Harvell, Ron Blumrick and Ryan Mach with 25 specks and 10 sand trout caught in East Matagorda Bay fishing with Capt. Don Wood. The fish were caught on Hogie Shrimp Tails drifting scattered shell and working gulls. The specks were 15 1/2" to 24".

Left to Right are Shandy Spencer, Beth Hickey, Michelle Cook and John Reid with 25 specks and 2 reds caught fishing in East Matagorda Bay with Capt. Don Wood. The group were staying at The Full Stringer Lodge where they said they had great food and hospitality. Shandy and Michelle were down from Traverse City, Michigan, Beth from Sugar Land and John from Pearland. Michelle caught this 32" red fish and Beth caught a 25" red. All the fish were caught on live shrimp drifting over scattered shell. It was also Michelle's birthday so the Big Red was a nice present for her.
Left to Right are Richard Stroup, Dennis Swanda, Gary Goldfeder, and Ed Lux with 14 trout to 22 1/2", 1 sand trout, 1 black drum, and 4 red fish to 27 1/2" caught in East Matagorda Bay fishing with Capt. Don Wood. The fish were caught on live shrimp and Hogie Shrimp Tails drifting scattered shell and mud. Ed Lux caught the 27 1/2" red fish and Richard Stroup caught the 22 1/2" trout.

Left to Right are Bob Fisher, David Peterson and Hank Pfalzer with 25 specks, 2 sand trout, and 4 reds caught in East Matagorda Bay fishing with Capt. Don Wood. Hank caught a 30 1/4" redfish which he tagged. All the fish were caught on Hogie Shrimp Tails on 1/4oz. lead heads. The fish were caught drifting scattered shell and mud. The largest trout was 24" that was also caught by Hank.
