Blue Sage
Scientific Name: (Salvia azura var. grandiflora)
Definition: Mint Family (Lamiaceae). Upright or sprawling. Stem, sloitary or a few from the ase, grow to 5 feet. Branched in upper upper portion. Flower up to 1 inch long, dark blue to pale blue. Ocaasaionally white. Flower is 2 lipped with upper lip upright and cupped. Lower lip is 3 lobed and spreading. Flowers grow in small clusters, and the clusters usually form long, slender spikes. Leaves are 2 inches long, wide and grow opposite. Not as aromatic as most of the mints. Blooms May - November.-
