Parsley
Scientific Name: (Polytaenia nuttallii)
Definition: More specifically, Prairie Parsley, the Texas variety is part of the Parsley Family (Apiaceae). Also called "wild dill", the plant can easily be used in much the same way. Parsley grows upright, stiff one a smooth, solitary stem which branches near the top. The flowers are actually tiny. About 1/4" across, with 5 yellow petals. Flowers grow in clusters of 10-20 on stalks of differing height. Some clusters grow closely forming bigger clusters. The clusters tend to look like orbs. Prairie Parsley especially likes growing in the blackland prairies. Blooms April-June.
