Definition: Wisteria is a high climbing vine commonly used as an ornamental planting. Wisteria can easily cover whole trees, given time. Flowers grow in long, drooping clusters 6 - 9 inches long. The individual flowers are nearly 1 inch long and are lilac or bluish purple and extremely fragrant. Wisteria usually blooms for a short period from one plant to another. Bloms April - August.
