Yellow Thistle
Scientific Name: (Cirsium horridulum)
Definition: In the Sunflower family (Asteraceae) Grows 1-6 feet high. Thick, single stem branches near top. Flower head 2-3 inches across and about as high. Flowers are creamy to dark yellow, and found solitary or a few at tip of stem. Leaves alternate, lobed and toothed ending in rigid spines. Blooms March - June.
